FOLLOW JESUS
We as Christians have the Bible as our guide…
We believe it is God’s Word.
We believe it contains the Jesus’ word’s for us.
We believe it contains the plan of salvation, for our directions for living godly lives, and the way to eternal life with God for eternity in heaven.
We as Christians have different ways to apply God’s principles to our lives – some of us have a daily devotion time of Bible reading and prayer – whether in the morning, during the day in a quiet moment or in the evening.
Some people wait until just before bed, and go to sleep with God’s Word on their minds, while others wake up and it is one of the first things they do to start their day out right.
Some Christians use only the Bible, some use a devotional, while still others may use an array of resources.
And in this day and age of electronics – this may also include different methods and electronic devices to bring God’s Word to us each day.
God’s Word, The Bible, we believe is The Living Word of God…
We believe that it can transform lives…
We believe that it can restore relationships…
We believe that it contains guidelines for a richer, more meaningful life…
And yet we can boil it all down to instructions on how to Follow Jesus.
Mark 10:46-52 (NIV) [46] Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (that is, the Son of Timaeus), was sitting by the roadside begging. [47] When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
[48] Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" [49] Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they called to the blind man, "Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you." [50] Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
[51] "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see."
[52] "Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
(John 14:1-4, NIV)

Memorial Day
Some time ago the Portland Oregonian carried the story of a Medal of Honor soldier awarded posthumously. This soldier was in a trench with some of his soldier buddies during an attack of the Vietcong, when a grenade was thrown into their trench where they were. Without hesitation, the soldier threw his own body on the grenade and took the full force of the explosion from the grenade into his own body, killing him immediately. His commanding officer, in presenting the citation, said that his sacrificial and heroic act had saved the lives of the other soldiers in that trench.
We honor those who have served our nation this Memorial Day, and have given the ultimate sacrifice of their own lives in service to our country.
John 15:12-13 [12] My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. [13] Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
Jesus Christ laid down His life for us on The Cross of Calvary so that we can live in freedom from sin’s grasp. We are loved by Jesus Christ so much that He gave His life for each of us.
This Memorial Day let us be reminded of His sacrifice for us.
